Stadtroda, Germany, April 29, 2025  - Allied Vision, a leading manufacturer of industrial cameras, is pleased to announce the commercial release of VIMBA X 2025-1, the latest version of its comprehensive and fully GenICam-compliant software development kit (SDK). This new release introduces a range of exciting features and improvements, including expanded support for TKH Vision cameras, a brand-new .NET API, and enhanced Python API availability.

In addition to the VIMBA X 2025-1 release, Allied Vision is also announcing official support for JetPack™ 6.2, the latest version of NVIDIA®’s JetPack software development kit.

One SDK for various TKH Vision cameras
Vimba X users can benefit from the SDK and its comprehensive features for image optimization and camera control together with additional TKH Vision cameras now:

  • The line scan camera allPIXA evo from Chromasens - The cameras with 10GigE interface can be used with a GigE Transport Layer from Allied Vision, the models with CoaXPress interface are supported with Framegrabber and Transportlayer from Euresys.
  • The compact GigEPRO camera from NET with a GigE Transport Layer from Allied Vision

The high-resolution and high-bandwidth cameras from the TKH Vision sister company SVS-Vistek GmbH have already been officially supported and enabled by default since the previous Vimba X version. This extension allows customers to use cameras from different companies with the same SDK within the same application. Mixed configurations in different applications are also possible, which considerably expands the range of options for customers. Being able to use the same SDK for different cameras significantly reduces development time and costs.

Moreover, the VIMBA X 2025-1 release includes the following key updates:

  • A new .NET API (VmbNET) with examples and code completion extension for Visual Studio, making it easier for developers to integrate Allied Vision cameras into their applications
  • The Python API (VmbPy) is now available on PyPi (Python Package Index), providing developers with easy access to the latest version.
  • A CSI-2 Transport Layer update for NVIDIA Jetson™, supporting JetPack 6.2, with bugfixes and improved performance

"We are thrilled to release VIMBA X 2025-1, which represents another milestone in our ongoing efforts to provide the best possible tools and support for our customers," said Gion-Pitschen Gross, Director Product Management at Allied Vision. "The expanded TKH Vision camera support and additional features will enable developers to create even more innovative and effective vision solutions."

New CSI-2 driver available
In addition to the VIMBA X 2025-1 release, Allied Vision is also announcing official support for JetPack 6.2, the latest version of NVIDIA's JetPack software development kit. The new Alvium CSI-2 driver for NVIDIA Jetson supports JetPack 6.2 and is available as a .deb package, making it easier for customers to install and customize their systems via APT package manager. Only the required modules are updated, making it much easier for customers to customize their systems. JetPack 6.2 includes support for the new super modes on Jetson Orin™ NX and Nano™ SoMs. All Jetson Orin modules (Orin Nano, Orin NX, AGX Orin™) are supported in this release. The Video4Linux viewer has been updated as well to fully support the new driver.
