A group of Korean researchers succeeded in the development of a sticker-type electronic element, which is easily attached and removed anywhere from paper to skin and curved surface just like a real sticker. It may be applied to detachable display, solar cell, battery, medical device and environment monitoring sensor.

The research led by professor Go Heung Cho of Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President   Young Joon Kim) was sponsored by the Senior Researcher Support Program (core) of the Ministry of Future, Creation and Science and National Research Foundation of Korea and the Specialized Research Support Program of GIST(International cooperation). It was published as the cover story in the March 20th issue of Advanced Functional Materials (citation index 10.179) which is a prestigious material science journal.

The research team raised the flexibility of the electronic element by using an ultra-flat board whose thickness is only 1/10 of a hair, instead of a thick and hard board, and also developed a technology to print it onto stickers to attach and remove with ease.
