JDSU Introduces a New Multimode Insertion Loss (mIL) Module for MAP-200
that Improves Production Test Efficiencies by More Than 300 Percent
The mIL test module dramatically increases productivity and reduces the test footprint
Press Release
Oct 14, 2011
The mIL test module lets your manufacturing customers meet the emerging performance
demands of multifiber connector and assembly manufacturing in new high-speed data-center applications.
It’s the latest application plug-in module for the
MAP-200 family.
The mIL and MAP-200 are part of a portfolio of products that labs and manufacturers worldwide trust as a
reliable suite that is unmatched in depth, breadth, and support for all phases of optical transmission system development.
The mIL delivers key value to all aspects of multimode-connector production-line testing:
• Improves test efficiencies by more than 300 percent including four-time faster test rate per
device under test (DUT) and 75-percent smaller footprint.
• New, improved graphical operator interface lets users set up test scenarios easily using step-by-step wizards,
so they are never more than one button away from connector inspection.
• Allows manufacturers to compete in high-speed data-center applications.
It fully addresses new requirements for ribbon-fiber-system loss budgets, needing only half the connector
losses as previously necessary.
• Enables seamless transition from new product introduction (NPI) to volume production anywhere.
An Ethernet-based software interface combined with a flexible, modular design allows the same solution to be used
at NPI stage as the one deployed during volume manufacturing. Simple SCPI commands over Ethernet simplify implementation.
JDSU won the coveted 2011 Frost & Sullivan Fiber Optics Test Equipment Market Leader
Award for its fiber-optic test equipment and offers the MAP-200-based test solutions
as part of their broad optical test solutions portfolio.
