January 22, 2018, Cary, NC –  Computar announced the release of a line of ruggedized lenses, the MPW2-R Series, designed specifically for Machine Vision applications with harsh environments.  These 5 Megapixel, 2/3” lenses are designed for high-resolution with low-distortion and minimize image aberrations caused by vibration and shock.

“As machine vision applications continue to expand into more demanding environments, maintaining optical integrity with vibrations, shocks and temperature changes is critical.” according to Terry Sekiya, Marketing and Sales Manager, Computar Optics Group. “Our ruggedized lens series addresses this with a combination of design features including redundant focus locks and bonding all elements in the lens body.”

Computar’s MPW2-R Series lenses are the industry’s most compact form factor and are engineered for optimal performance with a 10G durability.  They feature redundant focus locks, adjustable with a double nut mechanism and are available in 8mm, 12mm, 16mm, 25mm, 35mm and 50mm formats.
