Leuven, 03 April 2017 --- Xenics, Europe's leading developer and manufacturer of advanced infrared detectors, cameras and customized imaging solutions from the SWIR to the LWIR realm, returns to Automate 2017 with its line-up of cameras suited for industrial applications.

A ruggedized uncooled LWIR camera designed for thermography and thermal imaging in harsh industrial environments, the Serval-640-GigE Thermography is one such camera you can expect to see at the exhibition this year.

Also displayed is the Bobcat-640 SWIR camera, a small industrial SWIR camera with InGaAs detector for machine vision and high temperature process control.

Xenics exhibits in booth 2641 at the McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.

Serval-640-GigE Thermography

Part of the Serval series, the Serval-640-GigE Thermography was designed to withstand the demanding and extreme conditions of an industrial environment. It is equipped with an uncooled microbolometer (a-Si) detector with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels and has a pixel pitch of 17 µm and a thermal sensitivity (NETD) of 55 mK. The Serval-640-GigE Thermography comes with radiometric calibrations that allow the user to measure temperatures in these ranges: -20°C to 120°C, 50°C to 400°C, 300°C to 1200°C or 1000°C to 2000°C.

Additional costs are kept at a minimum with the Serval-640-GigE Thermography. Its compact IP67 housing meant that there is no need for third party enclosures, keeping integration costs low. Hefty maintenance or repair costs are avoided, as a lens cap with front window protects the lens which also comes equipped with an air purge to maintain cleanliness in dusty environments.

The Bobcat family

SWIR InGaAs cameras suitable for industrial applications – The Bobcat family

Consisting of the Bobcat-320 and the Bobcat-640 series, the Bobcat family is a group of SWIR cameras designed for cost-sensitive industrial and R&D applications, such as laser beam analysis, semiconductor inspection or laser gated imaging.

The Bobcat-320 is a SWIR InGaAs camera equipped with a thermo-electric cooler for temperature stabilization of the sensor, guaranteeing low noise and dark current values. Together with its on-board image processing, which alleviates system integrators of most of the software application development, the camera delivers excellent image quality.

The Bobcat-320 is available in three versions: Bobcat-320 SWIR camera

  1. a basic 100-Hz model with limited on-board processing directed at competitive volume markets

  2. an advanced 400-Hz high-speed version with complete on-board image processing, windowing and auto-exposure included

  3. a unique gated imaging version for use in R&D and specialized dedicated applications where very short exposure times are required

The Bobcat-640 comes in a compact form factor of just 55 x 55 x 72 mm³ for the CameraLink version and 55 x 55 x 82 mm³ for a small GigE Vision interface. It offers an excellent low noise and low-dark- current performance.

The Bobcat family

The Bobcat-640 is available in two versions:

  1. Bobcat-640 CL SWIR camera

  2. Bobcat-640 GigE SWIR camera

Both are perfectly suited for high speed imaging at full 640 x 512 resolution with high frame rates up to 100 Hz.
