Boulder, Colorado – 5/18/2015 – Rocky Mountain Instrument Co. (RMI), a Lafayette-based optics manufacturer, will be exhibiting at Laser World of Photonics in Munich, Germany. A regular exhibitor at this bi-yearly international laser fair, RMI will be showcasing enhanced laser optics product lines as well as new opto-mechanical laser assemblies in booth A2.507.

Used in Nd:YAG, Nd:YVO4, and fiber lasers for cutting, welding, marking, and drilling applications, RMI's new laser assemblies include high performance standard and custom beam expanders and F-Theta lenses. All processes for assembly manufacturing are contained in-house at RMI's facilities including design, optical fabrication, coatings, finished assembly, and testing.

RMI's standard and custom beam expanders are made with high precision plano-concave and plano-convex lenses – available in a wide range of materials. Housed within an anodized aluminum casing, components are specialized for use with UV through FIR wavelengths including 266nm, 355nm, 532nm, 1064nm, and 10.6μm. Using state-of-the-art thin film coating technology, RMI applies Anti-Reflection (AR) coatings to the lenses to ensure the highest level of optical performance as well as increased lifetime.

Beam expanders are used within laser systems to expand or increase the size of a collimated beam. Oftentimes used adjacent to beam expanders within the same laser system, RMI's new F-Theta lens assemblies are made of an array of two to five optics including meniscus lenses and windows. The number of optics inside depends on application wavelength as shorter wavelengths require more optical elements.

F-Theta lenses provide a constant focal plane throughout the entire field of view, ensuring precise beam delivery and excellent spot size.

Utilizing the highest precision practices and technologies, RMI manufactures laser optical assemblies that are built to meet both standard and custom technical specifications.
