New TW610STi, with PointBlank Technology, 3D and Advanced Command and Control Features,
Gives Schools and Businesses More Engaging, Cost Effective Presentation Solutions
FREMONT, Calif. | January 26, 2012 | Optoma, the leading brand of DLP projectors in the Americas,
has added interactive capabilities to one of its most popular short throw projectors. Capable of producing extremely
large high-resolution images from very short distances, the TW610STi has been outfitted with PointBlank technology to
deliver an interactive presentation environment without the additional investment and equipment.
The new TW610STi continues Optoma’s goal of providing educators and business users with the most feature-rich,
easy-to-use solutions for delivering large, high-resolution images when space is tight. The TW610STi is 3D-capable
in 720p HD and offers both PC-free operation through its USB port and state-of-the-art remote command and control
via Crestron RoomView® technology.
The WXGA resolution projector delivers 3100 lumens of brightness, and will be available in January.
“Interactivity has been proven to enhance presentations throughout all levels of education and business, but the equipment
has been prohibitively expensive,” said Jon Grodem, Optoma’s senior director of product and marketing.
“The new TW610STi provides a efficient solution for just about any environment because it includes the latest technology to
support new software applications and can work within any new or existing IT infrastructure or as a standalone projector.”
With PointBlank built-in, the Optoma TW610STi turns any surface into an engaging, collaborative workspace without capital
investment in additional equipment. Using the interactive pen’s wireless technology, teachers and presenters can engage with
their class or audience while interacting with displayed applications from anywhere in the room. Teachers will also benefit
from the inclusion of the award-winning Qwizdom WizTeach interactive software, specifically designed to enhance the classroom
experience.
The short throw, widescreen (WXGA - 1280 x 800 pixels) projector can deliver an 84” image from as close as three feet from
the screen or wall. 3D capabilities are provided by DLPLink™ technology to support 720p 3D display with the use of active-shutter
glasses.
The Optoma TW610STi packs a strong complement of features into an affordable package. An onboard 10-watt speaker system is
included for robust audio, and a full complement of I/O connections is provided, including HDMI v1.3, two VGA-In, VGA-Out,
S-Video, Composite Video, RCA Stereo Audio-In, Stereo Audio-In, Stereo Audio-Out, Microphone-In, RJ45, RS-232, USB for PC-free display,
mini USB for USB display, and a 12V trigger.
Like with all Optoma projectors, the DLP engine operates without filters, reducing ownership and maintenance costs while
ensuring consistent performance throughout the projector’s life. The projection lamp is rated to last up to 4000 hours in
standard mode or 3000 hours in bright mode.
