Adaptative Threshold IR Switch (ATIR Switch) from New Infrared Technologies
Press Release
November 23rd, 2011
Madrid, November 23rd, 2011 — NIT has launched the ATIR Switch,
the most advanced IR switch in the market for industrial applications.
The device is able to detect and scan hot objects without contact. The detection in the MWIR range, 1 - 5 microns,
allows the detection of objects in a wide range of temperatures, starting in 200 C.
Advanced microprocessor-based electronics provides both analog (0-24 VDC) and digital (USB) outputs,
converting the device in an excellent tool for counting or triggering process involving high-speed moving hot objects.
As an outstanding characteristic, its real time adaptative threshold algorithm makes the device specially recommended
for applications where heterogeneous object temperature profiles are present. The device includes optics and custom
software for data acquisition and visualization. The optics is manually adjustable to allow measuring distances ranging
from 0.5 meters to 5 meters (spot size 3x3 mm to 30x30 mm).
The new ATIR Switch represents a breakthrough in terms of cost and performance, and its unpaired characteristics makes it
an extremely useful tool for quality control process in glass, steel, paper, cement, and plastic manufacturing industries.
NIT will be exhibiting at the SPIE Photonics West 2012 exhibition in the booth #5313.
